You can pay Additional Voluntary Contributions (AVCs) into an investment fund managed by an insurance company or building society and you can then use the fund to provide additional pension benefits.

Prudential

Prudential is approved to provide the in-house AVC service for members in the Bedfordshire Pension Fund.  

You can apply for AVCs online, by going to Prudential's website at www.pru.co.uk/localgov

If you already have an AVC arrangement with Prudential, you can manage your AVC account online at www.pru.co.uk/online or you can contact Prudential on 0345 6000 343.  Please note that this phone number is for people who are already paying AVCs.   

                                     

Standard Life

For members who started paying AVCs before January 2010 and are paying AVCs to Standard Life, the existing arrangement with Standard Life is continuing.
